1:5 MATERIAL MODEL
The ski chair is inspired through two disciplines, being downhill skiing and ski jumping.
ITERATIVE SKETCH DEVELOPMENT
The interaction of skis cutting through powdery snow intrigued me. I was also interested in the change in body posture of the ski jumper and their anticipation, the cusp of the slope. Springing out into a jump from tension to gain the furthest distance. These contrasts inspired me to realize such through the materiality of the ski chair.
EXPLODED ISOMETRIC
It seemed obvious to me that I should combine wood, steel, and fabric into a finalized product.
